ABOUT

Namaste!

The word holds several slightly different meanings. In general, it is a greeting. In my own little way, I am saying this to you as a greeting with profound respect. I am super-duper excited that you are here.

You see, I am on a journey, frankly, we all are. I started documenting it in the year 2018. The journey of life I’d call it, where the path we take shapes us to adapt and understand the art of living. Where if we do one thing wrong we suffer the consequences, and if we do great things…well, you already know the result of that! You might just be rewarded with many achievements and jeez! …that awesome feeling of self-fulfillment.

How many times have you pat yourself on the back and say “Way to go, you did it!” I have done it too many times, and the feeling is amazing! Silently celebrating your wins, gives you that bubbly feeling inside, glorifying that small push to GROWTH, that utter feeling of being PURPOSEFUL.

Shoots! Before I go on and on about what’s about to go down in this space I am creating, let me introduce myself.

Who am I?

I am Julian Fisher, and I am at a crossroads in this very thing they call “life.” Those who are closest to me, call me Jules which also forms the name of this blog. JULES has a deeper meaning and is my personal acronym which means JOURNEY of UNDERSTANDING LIFE and your ENTIRE SOUL. This name is a true representation of the purpose and what I intend to do on this blog by sharing my understanding of what life should entail, and living it by creating a passage of deeper connection to my soul and what it needs. I am happily married, no kids yet, but until then …I am riding the waves to see what direction life will take me. In absolutely everything I do, I give 150% (I think the suggested term for that is a workaholic.) What can I say, it makes me sleep well at dawn. My 9 to 5 experiences have been very daunting. I somehow felt like a hamster in a cage where I keep running towards something giving my all, and ending up getting nowhere. It led me to ask myself the question “Does this make any sense?” “Am I really living?” or am I just trying to survive. There was this one particular day after a long, tiring and hard day at work (giving my usual 150%), as soon as I got home, I head straight to my bedroom and crashed down on my bed looking to the ceiling. I then let out a deep sigh and said: “Aah, I survived the day.” At that point, I started delving into so many things with the hope to reshape my life for the better. Tragically, nothing ever really worked.

One day as I sat at this crossroads of deep directional thinking, I asked myself the question “What if I decided to give myself that 150% of time, grit, sweat and tears?” “What if I gave it all to me?” I decided whatever it is I am going to do, I don’t want to do it trying to survive. I want to do it feeling alive and really living. I want to do what makes me happy, what ignites a spark in me, what fuels my passion into purpose.

If you should pay a visit inside my head for a day, you would go absolutely crazy!! Millions upon millions of thoughts just floating around. Don’t worry, I promise you could find crazy good stuff up there that is worth more than gold. I don’t talk a lot, I think a lot…so I decided to create space in a small corner of the World Wide Web at the address www.jules101.com  to release those thoughts.

I decided to embark upon a journey of understanding, discovering, learning and growing into my best self. Figuring this all out by delving on the path of what makes me… ME. I started off on an entire soul searching, digging deep down into my entire being of what awakens me. This allows me to actually meet a part of myself that I have never met before.

Have you ever asked yourself “What makes me happy?” If not, stop reading this post and do it right this very instant. Whatever answer you came up with, would you do this your entire life just to be happy all the time? My answer was “Most definitely!”

This is the basis upon which the creation of this very blog came about. I’ve reckoned that whatever makes me happy might be the very thing that makes others happy too. So I decided to share it. After all, there is no harm in sharing happiness.

What makes me happy?

I love food, music is my drug, inspiration gets me going and good laughter won’t hurt anybody. Also, I find myself beginning to enjoy exercise. Must have been my conscious mind telling me it’s one of the number one things that promote good health. So why not?

What can a happy me do for you?

So on my journey of self-learning, particularly my main aspects of living, I met upon an abundance of knowledge where sometimes I get lost in it all. There is so much knowledge being shared in this space (World Wide Web), so much I have absorbed. I absolutely love all the people who do care to share. I keep understanding things and learning and I just want to share it all. I will share with you what drives my passion, what nurtures my very soul. That way I am not just sharing with you just anything, I’m sharing a part of me.

I will mostly share all my recipes as well as the ones I learned, quotes upon quotes of inspiration, covers to songs I find soulful (if I am brave enough) and anything else I find happiness in.

I believe sharing your self-education can be truly impactful. I really really hope that whatever I share brings joy and happiness to you as it does to me.

The Journey

I started this blog as a journey, a documented one guiding me on a path of how I dream of living. It involves me connecting to my soul and understanding what it truly wants and feeding it accordingly. It encompasses me taking a holistic approach to life where I focus on my entire body and mind, addressing physical, mental and emotional health. These factors affect your overall health, and neglecting one may start to affect you in more ways than one. The aim is to take care of all of you, from your body and mind down to your very soul.

My husband will be tagging along with me on this journey. After all, he is stuck with me and I might as well give him some work to do. He will be the photographer and will supply all the beautiful photos (the original ones) you will see on this site.

As I sat in November 2020 writing this post, I reflected upon how disastrous this year has been and is still being. A global pandemic and civil uprising were the major crises that have been rattling the lives of people and businesses all over the world. So many suffered a great loss, so many lives were turned inside out without any real guide on how to recoup from the tragedy of it all. I too have been tossed and turn and suffered great losses in this dreaded year 2020. But you know what, it is our duty to find ourselves and to find our way back to life. And so I thought: As long as I am breathing, I will find my way back on the path, trotting my way through life with a sound mind. I will rise beautifully as the Lotus flower. You can too! Even through all the muck, you too can rise and rebirth as something more beautiful than what your circumstance has served you.

Journey along with me, I sincerely hope you find happiness and ways to nurture your soul along the way!

Thank you, thank you and thank you for being here.
